Book a stay in Portland, Dorset.
* Seaside Artist's house with fantastic sea views overlooking Portland harbour and the unique Chesil beach. Two minutes walk from the Coastal Path, five minutes walk from shops and pubs, ten minutes walk to Chesil Cove beach. Three bedrooms (one with a double bed, the other with two single beds that can be connected to make a king-size, plus a single futon which can be put in the study bedroom. The living room has two sofas that can seat five people.
*The living area includes the ‘Party Wall Gallery’, a space for artists to showcase or develop work. There may be a visiting (non-public) exhibition on the wall at the time of your stay – if this is the case, there will be information about it on the dining table. The study has a large work desk which can be used for writing or for making small scale artworks and a small library.
* Good if you want to chill or be more active. Activities available in the area: stunning coastal walks, bike rides, sailing, water sports, diving, angling, rock climbing, bird watching, stone carving and pottery workshops and lots more. Pubs with great beer from £3.80 a pint are five minutes walk.
* Accessible by train or coach from London to Weymouth, plus short bus or bike ride. Secure bike storage.
Rental rates
£400 - 500 per week off-peak, or
£100 per night (Three nights minimum booking, off-peak)
Peak rates are £700 + per week. Book early for the lower price! Whole weeks only.
The floorboards upstairs are sanded and varnished. The house has recently rewired electrics. It has a newly fitted bathroom and, has a bright new fully equiped kitchen.
Use of the 6 M long 'Party Wall Gallery' by negotiation for stays of a week or longer. See photos below.
Please Note: Unfortunately the house is not wheelchair accessible due to steps up to the property. The footpaths from the beach to the house are steep in places.
Bookings open from July for up to to five people.
NB: Currently no TV or broadband - but good 4G phone data connection! A chance for a digital detox?
